Ahh thank you for such a wonderful compliment!! :)
And yes, I have been extremely lucky to have been able to travel so much and to keep going to new places! Many of the travel opportunities have been school things - I’ve studied abroad in Switzerland, England, and Australia - but I have also been really fortunate to have traveled pretty extensively with my family (like when my family and I went to New Zealand after I studied in Aus). Hope you’re enjoying the pictures!! <3
Hey! Congrats Rebeccah, that’s awesome!! You’re going to have an AMAZING time at UNSW! And thanks for the love!
As for cell phones, it was actually suuuuper easy. I have an Iphone 5, so all I had to do was find the nearest Vodafone (and they are everywhere, including in the Sydney airport), and buy an Aussie SIM card. They’ll pop out your original one and put in the Aussie one, and then you can purchase a plan that’s right for you! The best one that I found was $30 a month for unlimited texting and calls between other Vodafones, and about $400 worth of minutes to use either domestically or internationally. It also included a gig of data (useful for google maps and getting the bus schedules!) which I never seemed to use up.
Hope that helps! And best of luck to you down under!
I’ve already taken about a few thousand photos since May 1st, so it’s gonna take me some time to filter through them before I start posting everything… Good think I’ve got a 16 hour flight on Wednesday - plenty of time to sort through my pictures!
Like holy crap this country doesn’t even look real.
I’ve spent the past 9 days doing a suuuuper quick and packed tour of both the north and south islands of New Zealand, and have taken almost 1,100 pictures (of which I have yet to finish going through…), so needless to say, there will soon be TONS of ridiculously unreal looking pictures going up (along with plenty of LotR pics!).
Tomorrow it’s back to ‘Straya with our first stop in Melbourne!
The internship is done. Classes are done. Exams are done. Packing is done. The past four(ish) months have gone by SO quickly, it’s insane! I have had such an amazing time meeting new people and having new experiences, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything!
Thankfully, I’m not leaving this side of the globe just yet, as I’ll be heading to New Zealand in just a matter of hours!!! I am SO excited to spend the next 9 days trekking down both islands, then hopping back on over to Melbourne, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Cairns, and then a final stop in Sydney before heading back to Los Angeles.
To all of my friends in BUSyd, thanks for the memories, and I’ll catch ya back in Beantown! To my friends in NZ and Melbourne, SEE YOU SOON!!
One final scene from our apartment.
Apparently our graveyard was visible from the street… People were impressed.
